We arrived in Budapest in the afternoon. We gave the participants some spare time (to chill,
make their bed, etc.). After that the pub quiz took place in the hostel, in which we asked
questions about Budapest, Hungary and the study trip committee (tip: quiz around 10
questions). The participants got time to eat their dinner and after we went on the best pub-
crawl ever. We visited several popular bars and clubs.
We’ve planned a city tour at 11 am, but due to circumstances, the city tour guide postponed
the tour, so we started around 1 pm. We saw the most beautiful sights of Budapest! After this,
we had some spare time to lunch or just to chill. In the evening we organized a special event: a ballet show in the beautiful opera house. It consisted of three parts and each part showed us another romance story. It was a very special experience!
On Monday we were going to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We did a tour and after that
there was a possibility to have a discussion. The guide also brought us to the rooftop of the
building, of which we had a beautiful view of the famous parliament. After visiting the
ministry, we had some spare time. In the afternoon we visited the parliament on the inside.
The evening was free for everyone, so of course we went out!
University time! We’ve got a tour in the building and had a discussion with students about
their experiences during their studentship and the political situations in Hungary. After this
we had some spare time till the evening. In the evening, the Palinka tasting took place. This is
a typical Hungarian booze. We got five different flavours, so it was a great start of the
DAYTRIP! On Wednesday we had our daytrip to Pécs, the fifth largest city of Hungary. This
day was full of fun and cultural activities. First we visited a mosque/church. After that, we
visited a museum of old excavations and the Victor Vasarely Museum. Now it was time for
the sporty event of the day: the Hungarian dance workshop! We ended this long day with a
dinner with the whole group.
We started the day with a visitation to the House of Terror museum. It contains exhibits
related to the fascist and communist regimes in the 20th century. Today we had a lot of free
time, so the participants were able to explore the city in their own way for the last day. We
ended this amazing trip in Budapest with our BOOZE CRUISE! A boat trip which included
two cocktails for each participant; the start of an amazing night!
Time to go home :( There was nothing left to do than pack our bags and say goodbye.
